Learn more about Our membersAccredited Members - both charities and agencies - are at the heart of the PFRA.
Accreditation is a detailed process that confirms a member meets recognised best practice and complies with the PFRA Code of Conduct and other industry requirements.
By becoming Accredited, members demonstrate their ongoing commitment to:
- Maintaining accountability and transparency within their organisation
- Protecting and strengthening public trust in fundraising
- Ensuring fundraisers, staff, and partners consistently meet PFRA standards
Accreditation is more than a regulatory step - it’s a public statement that an organisation is dedicated to accountable, ethical, sustainable, and effective fundraising.
More information about the PFRA’s Accreditation process can be found on our Accreditation page.
Affiliated Membership is open to organisations with a connection to, or interest in, public fundraising in Aotearoa New Zealand.
While Affiliated Members do not have voting rights, they are encouraged to take part in PFRA discussions in a non-voting, advisory capacity.
Affiliated Members play an important role in strengthening the fundraising community, sharing knowledge, and supporting the PFRA’s work to maintain high standards and public confidence in charitable fundraising.
Joining the PFRA shows a commitment to ethical and effective fundraising.

Email UsMembership and Activity Fees
The Public Fundraising Regulatory Association (PFRA) is a member-funded organisation. All fees collected help support the day-to-day running of the PFRA, including the work we do to safeguard the fundraising sector, monitor standards, and ensure accountability across Aotearoa New Zealand.
Membership Fees
Membership fees are paid annually by 31 March for the year ahead. These fees are reviewed and approved by the PFRA Board and members to ensure they remain fair, transparent, and aligned with the costs of supporting self-regulation.
Activity and Pledge Fees
Activity and pledge fees are based on each charity’s fundraising activity. Agencies usually self-report activity monthly for the previous month, and invoices are issued the following month. These fees help fund the systems, training, and oversight that keep public fundraising ethical, consistent, and well-managed.
How Fees Are Set
All fees are reviewed regularly in consultation with members. Adjustments take into account changes in operating costs, fundraising activity levels, and the resources needed to deliver effective regulation and support services.
For questions about fees or payment options, please contact info@pfra.org.nz.
